Fabric Structure and Design Analysis


The fabric-forming process or fabrication method contributes to fab­ric appearance, texture, and its suitability for end use. The structures of woven, knitted, and nonwoven fabrics are shown in Figure-1. These fab­rics have varying structures depending on the interlacement/interlocking pattern of the yarns.
